What’s the subject matter?
Collaborative creativity.
Go on.
The heart of the book is instructions for 25 activities you can enjoy with your friends, your children, your students, or an audience of 500 who are waiting for the tech-person to get your powerpoint working. There’s something inherently wonderful about writing together, drawing together, or storytelling together, even if – especially if – you don’t normally do that sort of thing. The instructions, examples, and commentary are fun and interesting to read, and tie in with concepts of mindfulness and personal growth, but I don’t beat you over the head with that.
What’s your secret motive for writing the book?
I wanted to give people alternatives to getting on their phones.
What’s your even more secret motive?
I can’t tell you. It’s a secret.
Please?
My friend Erica once said, “I want to live in a world where friends fall in love over and over again.” I want to live in that world, too.
What do people say about it?
There are lots of Amazon reviews to read, and people have been writing on the Facebook page. But you’re here now, and so let me share some reader comments with you.

Doug has a unique gift to bring an honest, unpretentious, joyful sense of play everywhere he goes. Now, he went and put it in a book. Enjoy!

I’m teaching a drama program for Junior High students. The goal … is to work on collaborative social and emotional skill development. … We have done Blindfolded Object TWICE. They LOVED it OMG couldn’t get enough of it.
